Haunted House part 4

continued from part 3

Skull

57. Insert a new layer set called skull. Open your skull image. CLick Image=> Mode RGB. Use your move tool to drag a copy of the skull over to your canvas. Make sure it ends up in your skull layer set.

58. Duplicate the skull layer 4 times so you have 5 skull layers in your layer set. Turn off your top 4 layers and click on your bottom skull layer.

59. Click edit=> transform => scale. Set to 40% in height and width. Apply transformation and set this image over the side door at the porch. Set the layer to 50% opacity. Turn off this layer and click on the next skull layer.

60. Click edit=> transform => scale. Set to 50% in height and width. Apply transformation and set this image to the right of the previous image but still on the porch. Set the layer to 50% opacity. Turn off this layer and click on the next skull layer.

61. Click edit=> transform => scale. Set to 60% in height and width. Apply transformation and set this image to the right of the previous image and in front of the porch. Set the layer to 50% opacity. Turn off this layer and click on the next skull layer.

62. Click edit=> transform => scale. Set to 80% in height and width. Apply transformation and set this image to the right of the previous image and in front of the house. Set the layer to 35% opacity. Turn off this layer and click on the next skull layer.

63. Set this image to the right of the previous image and in front of the house. Set the layer to 15% opacity.

64. Turn the skull layers off. Click back on the first skull image. Use the lasso tool to select out the porch openings using 0 feather and add to selection to get each one. Click add layer mask on the bottom of the layers panel.

65. Click on the second skull image. Use the lasso tool to select out the porch openings using 0 feather and add to selection to get each one. Click add layer mask on the bottom of the layers panel.

66. Turn the skull layer set eye off.
 

Pumpkin

67. Open the three pumpkin image. Click Image=> mode=> RGB. Drag a copy of the pumklin onto the canvas. Call the layer pumpkin.

76. Right click on the pumpkin layer and select blending options. Check Inner Shadow and set the following:

  • blending mode: Multiply
  • Opacity = 72%
  • Angle = 120
  • Distanbce = 3
  • Choke = 0
  • Size = 98pixel

77. Duplicate the pumpkin layer and bring up the inner shadow settings. Change the blending mode to color burn. Turn this layer off.

78. Link these two layers and create a new set from linked. Move the set to right behind the lamp post. While the layer set is highlighted, use the polygonal lasso to select out the post for the lamp post. Click select=> inverse. Click the add layer mask button.

 

Lamp

79. Insert a new layer. Fill this layer with black. Click filter=> render=> lens flare. Set the flare to

  • brightness = 33 %
  • centered on canvas
  • 35 mm Prime

80. Set the layer mode to screen. Use the Move tool to move the flare over the lamp. Turn this layer off.

81. PSD Layer check- organize your layers

  1. Lens flare layer on screen  mode turned off
  2. Pumpkins layer set, where the one layer is on and the other is off.
  3. The Devil layer set turned off
  4. The Bats layer set with only the gargoyle knocker turned on in the set.
  5. The Skeleton layer set turned off.
  6. The Gargoyle layer set is turned on but only the smallest gargoyle is turned on.
  7. The Cats layer set is turned on but only the resting cat layer is turned on.
  8. The Trap door layer set should be turned off.
  9. The Skulls layer should be turned off.
  10. Gargoyle on the left peak turned on
  11. House turned on
  12. Gargoyle on the right peak
  13. Right Cemetery
  14. Left Cemetery
  15. Moon With Clouds
  16. Black Background.

82. Link the bottom layers, J, K, L, M, N, O, not including the background. CLick the right hand arrow and select new set from linked. Name the set Scene.
