Haunted House part 3

continued from part 2

The Cat

34. Open the cat image. Click image=> mode=> RGB.  Duplicate the background and turn off the eye on the background. On the background copy, use the magic wand to select the white area around the cats. Hit the backspace key. Click Select=> deselect. Click layer=> matting=> defringe. set to 4 pixels

35. Make sure on your house canvas that you have the house layer highlighted.  The first cat is the one lying down. Lasso the first cat. Use the Move tool to drag over to the house canvas.

36. Lasso the second cat and use the move tool to drag it onto your house canvas. Lasso the third cat and use the move tool to drag it onto the house canvas.

37. Link the three cat layers. Click the right hand arrow on the top right side of the layers panel and select New Set from Linked. Open your layer set and Unlink your cats.

38. Use your move tool to set the cats on the front wall. Zoom in to your cats. Use the move tool to align the bottom feet of the cats so the feet are all at the same place.

Turn off the eyes on the two standing cats. Close your layer set.

Skeleton

39. Open your skeleton image. Click Image=> mode=> RGB.

40. Select your move tool. Drag the skeleton image over to your canvas. Right click on this layer and select duplicate 5 times till you have 6 skeletons.

41. Link the 6 skeletons and select the right hand arrow on the layers panel top. Select New set from Linked.

42. Unlink the skeleton layers in the layer set. Turn off the eye on all the skeletons except the bottom skeleton layer in the set.

42. Highlight the bottom skeleton layer. Click edit=> transform=> scale. Set the scale to 50% height and 50% width. Move this skeleton into the cemetery next to a tomb stone. Turn the eye off on this layer.

42. Highlight the next skeleton layer up in the set. Click edit=> transform=> scale. Set the scale to 60% height and 60% width. Click edit =>transform=> flip horizontal. Place nearly over the previous skeleton. Turn this layer off.

43. Highlight the next skeleton up in the set. Click edit=> transform=> scale. Set the height to 70% and width to 70%. Move this skeleton down a little from the last but still over the previous. Turn the eye off on this layer.

44. Highlight the next skeleton layer up in the set. Click edit=> transform=> scale. Set the scale to 80% height and 80% width. Click edit =>transform=> flip horizontal. Place nearly over the previous skeleton but somewhat lower as if it is off the stone wall. Turn this layer off.

45. Highlight the next skeleton up in the set. Click edit=> transform=> scale. Set the height to 90% and width to 90%. Move this skeleton down a little from the last but still over the previous. Turn the eye off on this layer.

46. Highlight the next skeleton layer up in the set. Click edit =>transform=> flip horizontal. Place nearly over the previous skeleton but somewhat lower and partway off the image on the right. Turn this layer off. Close the layer set.

 

Bats

47. Create a new layer set called bats. Open the gargoyle knocker. Select the elliptical marquee tool set to a 10 pixel feather. Draw an elliptical marquee from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. Drag it onto your canvas using the move tool so it ends up in your bats layer set.

48. Use the move tool to move the gargoyle knocker to the solid wall over the porch. Set the layer mode to hard light.

49. Click edit=> transform=>perspective. Drag the top left handle towards the bottom left handle a short distance, about v=10. Then grab the middle left handle and drag the left side down so the image follows the perspective of the house. Apply the transformation.

50. Open your bats image. Select  the magic wand set to 45 tolerance and contiguous unchecked. Click in the black area of the bat. Click edit=> define brush. Name the brush bats.

51. Add a layer in the layer set. Select your brush tool set to the new bats brush. Set the bats brush to 30 pixels wide. Hit your D key to set the color.  Paint one impression of the bats at 100% opacity to the left of the gargoyle knocker as if they came out of the bottom of the knocker.

52.  Add a layer in the layer set. Select your brush tool set to the new bats brush. Set the bats brush to 60 pixels wide. Paint one impression of the bats at 100% opacity to the left of and overlapping  the first impression.

53.  Add a layer in the layer set. Select your brush tool set to the new bats brush. Set the bats brush to 100 pixels wide. Paint one impression of the bats at 100% opacity to the left of and overlapping  the second impression.

54.  Add a layer in the layer set. Select your brush tool set to the new bats brush. Set the bats brush to 100 pixels wide. Paint one impression of the bats at 120% opacity to the left of and overlapping  the third impression.

55.  Add a layer in the layer set. Select your brush tool set to the new bats brush. Set the bats brush to 100 pixels wide. Paint one impression of the bats at 120% opacity to the left of and overlapping  the fourth impression and off the side of the canvas.

56. Turn the bats layers off so the only layer that is on in the set is the gargoyle knocker.
