Haunted House Part 2

Devil

11. Click the right hand arrow on the top of the layers palette. select New Layer set. Call the layer set Devil.

13 Open the devil image. Select the elliptical marquee tool set to 5 pixel feather. draw an oval around the devil.

14. Use your move tool to move the image to the haunted house canvas devil layer set. Move this image over the moon. Set the layer mode to 50% opacity. Name the layer devil 3

15. Duplicate the devil layer and call the layer devil2. Set the opacity to 25%.

16. Duplicate this layer and call it devil1. Set the opacity to 15 %. Turn off the eye on this layer set and close it by clicking the downward arrow on the set.

Gargoyles

17. Open up the gargoyle picture. Duplicate the background and turn the eye off on the background. Use the magic wand set at 45 tolerance and contiguous checked to select the black background. Click your backspace key to delete the black. Click Select=> deselect.

18. Use your lasso tool to select the smallest gargoyle image. Select your move tool and drag this image to your haunted house canvas. Place this layer under the house layer and move the gargoyle to the far right peak. Duplicate this layer. Click edit=> transform=> flip Horizontal. Move this layer up above the house layer and place the gargoyle on the furthest left peak.

19. Click the arrow on the right side of the layers palette and select new layer set. Name the set gargoyle. With your layer set layer highlighted, Use the move tool to drag another instance of the smallest gargoyle onto the canvas. Move the gargoyle over the main top peak.

20. Use the lasso tool to encircle the #1 image on the gargoyle.jpg. Drag that onto the canvas so that it is in the same layer set and above the small gargoyle. arrange this so that the base of this image is at the same point as the center gargoyle. Do the same for #2, 3 and 4. On image 4, click edit=>transform=> rotate 90 degrees clockwise. Turn off all the gargoyles in the layer set except for the small one. close the layer set.

Trap door

21. Duplicate your house layer and call it door. Click back on the original house layer and insert a layer between the two houses. Fill this layer with black and call the layer void.

Drag on your hand image, call the layer hand and then link the hand to the trapdoor layer and the void layer. Click the right hand arrow on the layers panel and select "new set from linked." Name the set trapdoor. Unlink the images once they are all in the set.

22. Click on the hand layer. Using your magic wand set to 45 tolerance and contiguous checked, select the blue around the hand.

Use the lasso tool set to add to selection to go around the flashlight outside of the hand. Hit your backspace key to delete all but the hand.

23. Click on the door layer. Use the polygonal lasso with 0 feather set to new selection to draw a 4 sided figure around the top window. Click the add layer mask button on the bottom of the layers panel.

24. Right click on the mask thumbnail on the door layer and set selection to layer mask. Right click on the layer mask and select the apply layer mask option.

25. Control click on your door layer. Click on the layer set layer. Select the add layer mask button on the bottom of the layer panel.

26.Duplicate the door to make door copy. Turn the eye off the original door. Move the door copy  left about 1/3 of its width.  Duplicate the door copy to make door copy 2 and turn off the eye on the door copy.. Move it another 1/3 the way left.

27.  Right click on the layer set mask and select disable so you can see your entire set.

28. Find the hand. Click edit=> transform=> scale. Set the height and width to 50% and angle to 9 degrees. Apply the transformation.

29. Move the hand so that it is half way across the trap door area. Right click on the layer set mask and select enable mask to see what will show in the final animation.

30. Duplicate hand to make hand copy. Move the hand to the left so that the finger tips are just beyond the visible area.

31. Duplicate had copy to make hand copy2. Duplicate door copy 2 to make door copy 3. Move door copy3 layer up to be under the hand copy 2 and move the hand to the right so that the fingers are above the edges of the door.

32. Add a layer mask to the hand copy2 and paint black in the mask to cover the fingers behind. Link hand copy2 to door copy  3 and click layer=> merge linked.

33. Duplicate this layer and move the image to the left so that the door covers two-third of the void. Turn off the eye on the trapdoor layer set.
